Holy Cross Lutheran Church is a
Christ-centered family of faith gathered for worship,
spiritual growth, and service to our Lord. We are located in
Dakota Dunes,
South Dakota, in the tri-state region of Sioux City, Iowa.
Members also come from the nearby South Dakota communities
of North Sioux City, McCook Lake, Jefferson, and Elk Point,
as well as from Iowa and Nebraska. Holy Cross is a member
congregation of the
Lutheran
Church–Missouri Synod.
Holy Cross is a growing congregation, founded as a new
mission in 1995 as part of the newly established master-planned community of
Dakota Dunes. The initial phase of our building, now the Educational Wing and
Fellowship Hall, was constructed in 1998. Attendance has more than doubled
since 2003, and in 2007 we rejoiced to dedicate a beautiful new
Sanctuary to the glory of God. We pray this

SUMMER BIBLE CLASS ON “QUESTIONS OF FAITH”—Join in Adult Bible Class
this summer on Sundays at 10:30am in our new Hearth Room as we consider
“Questions of Faith.” In this video based study we will look at some key
questions such as “Is God in Control?”, “Do All Religions
Lead to the Same God?”, “Does Christianity Promote Inequality
Between the Sexes?” and “Is Christ a Credible Historic Figure?”
The video presenters include Ravi Zacharias and other well-known
“apologists” or defenders of the Christian faith as they answer
questions from university audiences across the United States. After
watching segments of their presentations we will discuss and study the
issues they present. Join in Sunday mornings at 10:30am in the Hearth
Room to look at “Questions of Faith”!
2013 Vacation Bible School Success!
Our “Armor of God” themed Vacation Bible School at Holy Cross
from June 3-7 was a great success, with over 50 children from our
congregation and community in attendance. Thank you to all the
“warriors” who helped share Jesus’ love with these children!
Lutheran Malaria Initiative Video Filmed at Holy Cross
Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, President of The Lutheran
Church—Missouri Synod, and Rev. Dr. John Nunes, President of Lutheran
World Relief, recently used the Sanctuary of Holy Cross to film several
videos together, including this one for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative.
They were both in the area and our church was a convenient location for
them to meet and made an attractive background for their filming.
